Hong Kong High-Rise Fire Alert: The Application of UAV Firefighting Technology Is Now at Its Peak.

On the afternoon of November 26, a sudden fire broke out at Hong Fook Estate in Tai Po, Hong Kong. The flames spread rapidly among bamboo scaffolding, and within four hours, the fire alert level was raised from Level 3 to Level 5 (second only to “disaster level”), affecting eight high-rise residential buildings. According to a press briefing released by the Hong Kong Fire Services Department on the evening of November 26, to tackle this emergency fire, the department had dispatched 128 fire engines and 57 ambulances, with a total of 767 firefighters and paramedics taking part in the rescue efforts. Hong Kong police also deployed 400 officers to evacuate residents from the eight buildings and surrounding areas, and imposed perimeter cordons. In a press conference held in the early hours of November 27, Hong Kong police and the Fire Services Department announced that the fire at Hong Fook Estate in Tai Po had so far claimed the lives of 44 people and injured 45 others.
