On March 16, 2024, CCTV's Science and Technology Powerhouse program featured a special report on new forest fire fighting equipment, fully affirming the role of firefighting UAVs in forest and grassland fire control.
The firefighting UAV shown in the news video was researched, developed, and manufactured by Guofei Aviation. Addressing the pain points of forest and grassland fires, such as high altitudes, treacherous terrain, inaccessible areas, and high fire suppression difficulty, Guofei Aviation, combining its research and exploration results in the field of UAV forest fire rescue, has developed a special firefighting UAV with multiple functions including reconnaissance, support, rescue, and fire suppression. Equipped with an intelligent reconnaissance system integrating laser ranging, infrared imaging, visible light imaging, high-intensity lighting, and a laser aiming system, it can quickly and intuitively obtain key information such as the fire's geographical location and the spread of the fire, providing information support for disaster assessment in a timely manner. This UAV system can simultaneously carry multiple fire fighting payload systems, enabling pressurized fire rescue operations, throwing fire rescue operations, and water hose tethered fire rescue operations in conjunction with a compressed air foam system. It adapts to fire fighting missions in different environments, scenarios, and states, particularly demonstrating unique capabilities in precise fire fighting for high-rise fires and reconnaissance and handling of forest and grassland fires.
